| The Dixieland Plantation Saddles are our lightest weight saddles (24-29 pounds) and are available in the Steele Equi-Fit Flexible Gaited horse tree (LT) in a regular and wide fit tree (other trees and fits available for an additional $75). All plantation saddles will come standard with many of our premium options including: the real wool felt lining, latigo saddle strings, coachmans loops, english stirrup irons or hand laced stirrups, and several tooliong options and enduro balanced rigging. These saddles are slighlty lighter in weight than our standard saddle and weigh apr 24-28 pounds. Seat sizes available will be 16 and 17 inch seat. The price on these saddles will be $1069 (regular or wide fit gaited tree- other trees are available for an additional $75). Our most popular plantation saddles have the endurance skirt or butterfly skirt. The only difference between these styles is that th endurance skirt is cut higher at the hip of the horse and the butterfly skirt is cut away behind the riders leg to give closer contact. You can see pics of these 2 styles on the right side of this page and below. We also offer the english style plantation that can be seen in pictures to the right. This saddle has the large flap behind the english stirrup leather and only comes in the skirt style pictured and cannot be made with a butterfly skirt.
